Oceana
The breath of the whale.
An artillery of exhaled gases that entrap fish upon the upper altitude of the ocean.
Bubble nets are released in a measured gait to ensure a uniform barrier through which no herring escapes. A bubble cloud is created in a single burst, sweeping mackerel is a miasma of panic. In a single exhalation from the blowholes, humpback whales such as Thorn have been seen creating a vortex, or torus, of gas.
These hunters exercise their breaths as tools, weaponizing the very water that sustains their prey. This is a behavior not genetically inherent to whales, but is culturally transmitted between individuals through observation and mimicry. Torus is an embodiment of such bewildering adaption.
A mark of ingenuity from the bestial nation, worthy of artistic contemplation.
