Oceana
The fluke of the humpback whale is a diverse palette of contours and markings; the pattern varies from a dunescape of ivory white, or alternatively as an abyss of onyx black, and even as a bramble of calligraphic markings and scars.
The tail bears a visceral tome to be read but never fully deciphered. My current foray into the themes of maternal sculpture is informed by ventral patterning not hereditary but instead unique to each individual creatures such as Spicule.
