Humpback whales are cooperative hunters and orchestrate their behavior to capture great yields of fish. Rushmore is a depiction of unified lunge feeding, composed of a single piece of red cedar wood. The varied perspective of each hunter reveals the geometry and elasticity of the creatures' physical forms. Such carnivorous feats are witnessed in the herring-rich shores of Alaska and in the upwelling currents of the Gulf of Maine.
