Acrylic on red cedar
22” x 10”

This felled cedar is reformed as a Humpback whale befriended back on Stellwagen Bank. The kinship of several years was admittedly in my favor, as foragings for herring and parleys with cackling gulls rightfully superseded his interests of the terrestrial.

Tinder is known also to a dear friend and wanderer of the marine cosmos. Together we have traversed the ocean in parallel admiration of this young whale, and I have watched Linnea identify him a distance of two nautical miles! This figurehead could not decorate the wheelhouse of a more formidable spirit.
